SIX DOMINOES GAMES, SIX CHALLENGES AND VOCABULARY QUIZZES TOO!
This combined pack of SETS 1 / 2 of 99 FRENCH VERBS DOMINOES GAMES are a lively and interactive alternative to more traditional vocabulary and grammar 'drilling' activities. They encourage students to focus on high-frequency FRENCH verbs, are ideal for independent learning and perfect for pair and small-group work - the activity really does help to create a lively language learning environment. Together, the sets include 198 essential FRENCH verbs.
Both sets feature 99 high-frequency verbs in FRENCH and English in the infinitive form, each with THREE games and THREE levels of challenge:
CHILLOUT CHALLENGE features the verbs in alphabetical order, FRENCH to English
CHAMPION CHALLENGE features the verbs in topsy-turvy order, FRENCH to English
SUPER-CHARGED CHALLENGE features the verbs in topsy-turvy order, ENGLISH to FRENCH - your students will really have to know their FRENCH verbs to complete this sequence in record time!
I’ve included reference sheets of all verbs in both alphabetical and topsy-turvy order for students to use as a learning support resource.
PLAY THE NUMBER GAMES!
These are fast-paced vocab quizzes, great for starter, warm-up, refresher and plenary activities at regular intervals across the school year - choose a language calling out either the FRENCH or ENGLISH verb, with students responding either verbally or in writing on a mini-whiteboard - I've also included two NUMBER GAME calling lists, both FRENCH and ENGLISH.
THE NUMBER GAMES can be played as a team game, with small groups, or with students playing as individuals against each other.
These games are a useful complementary resource to my other FRENCH VERBS resources, but work perfectly well as standalone resources too.
I've classed the game as suitable for GRADES 7-12, because it really does depend on when your students begin FRENCH - the dominoes games work well with any appropriate grade group, depending on their starting point.
The games do take a bit of prep: printing and laminating. Laminating is definitely a good idea - you'll be able to use your DINKY FRENCH DOMINOES for many years to come!
TOP TIP: create a student volunteer teaching assistant break/lunchtime rota, with departmental or other whole-school rewards as an incentive. This will save you a lot of time and work, and help your students understand some of what lies behind all the planning and preparation!
MERCI BEAUCOUP ET BON DIVERTISSEMENT !
