This packet by Heather Bates, SLP was created to give parents some ideas on how to engage in fun, language enriching activities with their children. There are so many opportunities that we as parents miss out on when we can talk with our children to help in developing their overall vocabulary and language skills. Some of these times include: car rides, grocery store, bath time, walks, waiting at the doctor’s office, waiting for the bus, etc. Our children spend so much time involved with electronics and not enough time talking with others. Hopefully these language games will spark interest in children while helping to develop their vocabulary and language skills. Research has proven that well developed vocabulary is a strong indicator of success in school! So play these games with your child and watch their language grow!!
