This activity offers a READING STRATEGY that has students look back up to the story to use its context to answer several comprehension questions. Using the strategy increases student retention. Final questions ask students to choose what the fables are teaching, hence making inferences. What's nice is that you get 2 FABLES for the price of one. Both are about foxes. In one, Little Fox does not heed the advice of Old Fox and tries to get honey from a bee hive. In the second fable, Fox invites his friend, stork to a meal that stork can't eat with his bill. Stork returns the dinner invitation only to serve a meal that the fox can't eat with his short snout. Both fables have cute drawings certain to spark discussion. Answer keys for both are included.
