Here are 2 Aesop fables that include a reading strategy that has students look back up to the stories and use their context to answer comprehension questions. Final questions ask students to pick what the stories teach, hence making inferences. I am offering 2 FABLES for the price of $1 Both are about dogs. In one, Top Dog likes to chase cats, but one cat is not at all afraid of him. Turns out that cat is actually a skunk and you can guess what happens. In the second fable, a dog with a piece of meat crosses a bridge, looks down and sees his reflection in the water beneath. Thinking it is another dog with a piece of meat, he snaps at the reflection. When he opens his mouth, he loses the meat, which drops into the water.
The fun stories and cute drawings are sure to spark interest and discussion. Answer key for both is included.
