This fun unit teaches students how to write a fable. It begins with a look at fables - “the moral of a story” and Aesop. In this module you will find the following:
• An explanation of what a fable is and who Aesop was. • Examples of Aesop's most famous morals and proverbs • The following fables written by Aesop: - “The Ant and the Grasshopper”, - “The Frog and the Ox”, - “The Fox and the Goat” and - “The Fox and the Grapes” • A reference list of various morals and proverbs found in Aesop's fables • An explanation of the written assignment • A “Planning Page” to help students prepare for writing their draft fable and • A “Check List” to ensure they have included all the pertinent information and that their writing is of a good quality.
