**Before purchasing, please check out my Fables and Folktales Bundle Pack...You will receive this Fables and Folktale Lapbook along with my Fables and Folktales Literacy Center Kit! A $7.98 value for only 5.00!
I have included ten activity flippers— to be used for a Lap Book or as a component in your Reading Interactive Journal. Not all will fit into the Lap Book style format. Therefore, you may pick which ones you see that best fit your kids’ needs.
I have also included questioning prompts for each flipper activity. If you prefer, you may use these in an Interactive Journal piece. For example, you would begin your lesson initiating discussion with the provided prompt. Students will glue the prompt into their journal and record their responses. Then read the Fable/Folktale of your choice, and complete the flipper activity. Students can glue flipper right into Interactive Journal. After completion, students can write a response on what they have learned or what they now know about the given flipper topic. I love using this format because students can really take “inventory” on what they already know about the topic and then reflect on what they’ve learned after the lesson is completed. It is a much more thorough approach that can span over the course of 2-3 days. I have used both styles (Lap Book and Interactive Journals). Use what works for you with the students you have and the time you are willing to invest. I also (personally) like to switch from Interactive Journals/Lap Books just to switch it up a bit for the kids too!
I’d love for you to check out my other Genre Based Interactive Journals/Lap Books! They all follow similar format, but of course are specific to the genre!
