These passages were designed specifically for the dyslexic students that I teach. They are carefully worded to only include words that are phonetically regular or are a word that must be learned and are not phonetically regular. Non-phonetically regular words are listed on the teacher’s guide for each passage. Each story set contains a large print copy for the student, a teacher’s copy for recording of errors and notes, and teacher’s guide with additional questions and a list of non-phonetically regular words contained in the passage. I had my students read the passage three times. First, they read it as a cold read individually. The second day we read it together in a small group and we discussed any issues they had. The third day each student reads it again individually, to see how much their fluency and accuracy has increased. I included three sections, in case you wanted the students to read independently a third time.
