Students will have a lot of fun creating a Facebook page for any artist. It's one of my own students' favorite assignments! It can be used for upper middle school through high school-aged kids.
This series of handouts include:
* A culturally diverse list of famous painters (though you can use any type of artist you'd like). PDF and editable Word doc.
*Directions for researching and completing the Facebook page (English and Spanish version. Note that my Spanish is fairly limited, but I have used it successfully with several Spanish-speaking students)
*PDF and editable Word doc of the blank Facebook page. This allows students to either print out images and write in text on the final document or complete all edits on the computer.
*A PDF of a Van Gogh Facebook page (to use as an example)
*Directions for a studio/art-making extension on this unit. It's a great way for students to apply their learning, while growing as an artist (it's NOT copying the original artist's work). There are 2 versions of this worksheet for you to choose from
*Grading rubric, out of 150 points (including studio extension)
A great way to incorporate art history in a fun and updated way!
