Use google classroom to distribute this google slides template to your students!
Students can click on the link to be directed to the Kids Biographies website. The website offers brief and kid friendly information students can use to develop a Facebook page for the scientist or inventor they choose.
The website opens a new tab in the web browser so students can tab back and forth while completing their project.
The template is spaced out to include a place for the profile picture, cover picture, a picture post, and comments from other scientist friends. The students can right click and select replace image to open up an image selection box to decide an image to replace each section with. The template is completely customizeable where students can decide how many friends their scientist or inventor has as well as how many likes or comments their post received.
The Google Slides application has an explore tab on the bottom right side of the screen that allows students to search for pictures or information about their inventor or scientist.
The information pops up in a new tab so students can tab back and forth between research and design!
To help students access the project you can group students in teams or pairs. The project is great for the introducing research skills in the beginning of the year. The template can be reused in other projects across curriculum. The students can make facebook pages for characters or authors in Language Arts or Facebook pages commented on current events or past events in Social Studies.
Once students complete their facebook pages they make great colorful classroom or hallway displays!
