Product Description

This presentation contains a 44 slide PowerPoint lesson in editable PPT format including idioms, a quiz activity, work papers and teacher’s notes.
This lesson explores the question “why are human faces so different”.
Our facial variety is crucial to the survival of our species, we are genetically programmed to be attracted to faces that are different so that we reproduce healthier babies. This discussion topic is an interesting one for both ESL classes (since it’s an international issue by nature), and high school students studying genetics.
There’s a quiz activity with facts about faces at the end of the lesson.
This lesson is created for ESL students (teen and adult) of intermediate and advanced levels.

This lesson includes:
- The parts of the face (with a work sheet and teacher’s answer sheet)
- Face idioms (with a work sheet and teacher’s answer sheet)
- Why are (almost) no two faces alike?
- Why is natural selection maintaining the variations of faces?
- Why don’t other animals have such a variety in their faces?
- Facial recognition
- What is “Face print”?
- The greatest “facial weapon”
- What is physiognomy?
- “The Average Men’s and Women's Faces In Different Countries”
- A face quiz

I hope you enjoy this lesson.

The products in this shop are all produces by a dyslexic teacher (hence the name).
I’m painfully aware of the contradiction in my choice of profession, but I can honestly say (after 25 years of teaching ESL classes) that there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.
Much like other challenged individuals who go through life with one hand tied behind their backs, I make up for what I lack with abundant research, high quality graphics, humor, passion and love.
I own every ‘correcting program’ available on the market and my lessons are proof read by wonderful, kind (and slightly horrified) TPT teachers, BUT there are always some errors that slip by us.
If you feel offended by the existence of errors in what is supposed to be a teaching tool…
If you are an open minded individual, that can except the possibility that you might find errors in the product that you are about to buy (you get a free product if you send me the errors to correct), then this product is for you and I hope it delivers everything you hoped for and more, along with my gratitude.
