The Gingerbread Fact Families Activity is Common Core aligned (1.OA.3, 1.OA.4, 1.OA.6) and designed to be an engaging way for your students to practice fact families. There are 20 gingerbread houses and corresponding fact families. Students sort the gingerbread men into the correct homes. After the cookies are sorted, students record their answers on their recording sheets.
Print, laminate, and cut. Use as a center or split up into several centers. Suggestion: Divide the 20 sets into groups of 5 and place in separate bags around the classroom. Students work in small groups rotating to each set and recording their answers as they complete each set.
Two performance assessments are included: All include answer keys
An “ink-saver” version of the houses is included as well as a page of “make your own” fact family gingerbread man sets.
