Fact Families with Part-Part-Whole is meant to help students build their understanding of fact families. Students use the Part-Part-Whole image to see how it relates to the equations. The Part-Part-Whole image is a switch from what is more commonly used, Whole-Part-Part, but the switching seems to help students see how the numbers are used to make the equation.
This set includes 8 practice sheets that walk students through the process of using three numbers to create the four related equations. The first couple of pages provide students with an image and the equations, while leaving the answer box blank. The next couple of pages have the unknown number box in different spots and students use the image to determine the unknown numbers. The following two pages provide students with the image, but all boxes are blank. The final two pages provide an image and students use the boxes to give one addition and one subtraction equation.
