For this activity you will need: beads, pipe cleaners and the tags included in this package. (The tags are formatted and ready to be printed double sided- heavier cardstock works best)
Students are given two colors of beads to thread on their pipe cleaner. I tell students to group the like colors together- for example: 6 green and 5 blue. Once students have put the beads on their pipe cleaner, you will hand them a two-sided tag to hole-punch and add to their bracelet. One side of tag reads, "__________'s Fact Family Bracelet" and the other side of the tag is a blank fact family for your student to complete (according to what beads are on their bracelet: 6+5=11, 5+6=11, 11-5=6, 11-6=5.)
After students have completed their bracelet and tag, I then only tie their bracelet around their wrist if the fact family tag is correct. I love this activity because the tag really helps kids (and their parents) to understand the concept behind the fact family bracelet.
