This can be a simple fall craftivity. You can also make it into a center activity by laminating them.
I used this as an extension activity to our missing addend lesson. To determine the value of our whole number, I had them first write a 1 and then roll a die to determine the second digit. They then rolled the die again to determine the value of one of the parts. Finally, the kids needed to determine the value of the other missing part using one of the strategies they learned. For example: 7 + __ = 16.
One of the 3rd grade teachers saw it and wanted one for multiplication/division so I included it as well.
