Practice Fact Families to 20 with these Fact Family Spinners!
: Copy all spinner heads and fact family columns onto cardstock, cut out and laminate. Next, match the correct spinner head with the fact family column and attach. I used the metal paper fasteners so the heads could spin, you can choose just to attach the two pieces together first before laminating. Once attached I used those little tiny stickers on the back of each spinner to acknowledge which number sentences goes with that spinner. There are 2 addition and 2 subtraction sentences per spinner. This allows students to know immediately if they have gotten the correct answer.
Copy worksheets, if needed on regular copy paper.

This concept is very hard for some students to grasp and these spinners are a concrete way to help students with their understanding. Show them how to attach the clothespins to the correct answer and how they can sel-check their answers with the stickers on the back.
✔ After teaching students how to use spinners, put the spinners to be used in a little basket with clothes pins. Students can easily do this center on their own once they have been taught the skills and how the spinners work.
✔There are times that you may want a worksheet from students to assess their understanding of the concepts so two different worksheets are included. Students can also just write out their number sentences on a white board that can easily assess their understanding that way too.
