Description
Task cards are highly engaging! They'll have your class buzzing with excitement as they practice and master their facts. Soon enough, they’ll be the fact masters that you want them to be!
This set is jam packed with addition skills. The Common Core requires students to be able to add fluently within 10 (1.OA.C.6). In this pack you will find:
Facts from 1-10 Task Cards
Facts from 1-10 worksheet for math minute
Doubles Facts
Ways to Make Ten (students must identify if a certain equation is equal to 10 or not)
Addend Reversal (Commutative Property)
Each skill includes 30 task cards to accommodate larger classes.
The task cards can be used to play Scoot!!
How to play Scoot!
Each student will get a recording sheet to match the task cards you will be working with.
Now for the fun part......
Place one task card on each student’s desk. Put them in order to make it easier for kids to get around the room and find the task card they are looking for. These particular cards are labeled with letters to decrease confusion since it’s a math Scoot!
Each student will look at the card on their desk and will write the answer on their recording sheet on the spot that corresponds to the card they have. For example: Card B has the problem 3+4, the student will then write the answer to the problem (7) on the space labeled B on the answer sheet.
After 30 seconds (or however long you want), have students get up and move over to the next desk. They will sit and answer the next card and so on and so forth.
To have students switch, you can yell out Scoot!, or just use a signal that is most appropriate for your class.
Most of all, HAVE FUN!
The kids love it and are becoming fluent with their math facts at the same time!
