Fact fluency is an important skill for students to master! When students can subtract fluently they are able to solve single and multi-step problems more efficiently and accurately.
This set focuses on developing strategies for fact fluency when subtracting. The strategies included in this set are Minus Zero, A Number Minus Itself, Count Back, Count Up, Think Addition, Tens Partners, Doubles and Minus Ten. The activities in this packet are differentiated and each strategy contains a skills sheet and a practice sheet. They are marked as AP for students approaching standard, AT for students meeting the standard and EX for students exceeding standards. This allows you to teach the same skill to your students but at the same time provide students with support and/or a challenge depending on their needs.
This set is perfect for kindergartners, first graders and second graders who need to develop strategies when subtracting in order to increase their fact fluency. It can be used in guided math groups, as independent work or as a center. However you decide to use this set, it will help your students add more efficiently and with greater accuracy!
