This Fact & Opinion Detective Pack has some fun activities that range from whole group to independent work to help your students practice distinguishing facts & opinions.
The activities include:
Fact & Opinion Sort – This sort can be done in a center or in small groups during a lesson. If it is used as a center, students can record their work on a recording sheet to turn in.
Fact & Opinion Search – Students will read a nonfiction paragraph, find three facts & three opinions, and record them.
What is Your Fact & Opinion? – Students are given a topic for which they generate one fact statement and one opinion statement. There are cards for whole group/small group oral use and there is a practice sheet for independent or partner use.
Fact & Opinion Cards - These cards can be used in a small group or whole group setting. Students hold them up when you give them a statement for a quick and easy assessment of understanding.
