Fact and Opinion Cards
Use these cards to help students determine the difference between facts and opinions.
- I cut them up and put them into our "Magical Box of Learning" (a decorated old tissue box) and have students pull a slip from the box.
- When they read it aloud, students all make an “F” with their hands (a thumb and 2 fingers) or an “O” in order to vote for whether the statement is a fact or an opinion.
It’s a great active participation strategy that also serves as an assessment.
