Product Description
This engaging activity puts a fun spin on identifying facts and opinions! Students color and cut out 18 basketballs, 2 hoops, a scoreboard, and jerseys. They read the statements on the basketballs to determine if it is stating a fact or an opinion, and they place it in the appropriate basket. It also makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display! It can even be used as a valuable addition to your students' interactive notebooks!

This resource includes detailed instructions (with photos) for your students to follow. It also includes a teacher note page with a few suggestions for the teacher to consider to make the project run smoothly.

A page was added at the end of this resource that contains blank basketballs. If you want, students can write their own fact and opinion statements on these images.

Open up the preview, and you will see the directions that come with this packet (and lots of photos). You'll also see 3 of the 18 basketballs that come with the activity.

I do this activity during March, but you can really do it any time of the year, since the basketball season takes place during several months of the school year! I choose to do it in March for two reasons. First of all, March Madness!! Secondly, it is a nice break from all of the spring test prep activities we have been doing, while still practicing a skill that might be on the tests! (If you are not doing this project during March, you can simply not print that page, because all of the March Madness statements are on the basketballs on the same page.)

This craftivity can also be purchased as part of a bundle featuring three craftivities: March Craftivity Bundle: Saint Patrick’s Day, March Madness, & Spring
