Product Description
This is a graphic organizer with writing pages that can be used when teaching students to write an informational piece on any of the following American heroes: Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, George Washington Carver, and Harriet Tubman. These heroes correlate with the Georgia Social Studies Standards for 1st grade. The graphic organizer is a useful resource when teaching Unit 2 of the 1st grade Georgia ELA extended CCPS. However, it can be used when teaching fact and opinion in writing and when teaching these historical figures in social studies. The speech bubble bordering the opinion parts of the organizer will help students understand that it is what they are saying about how they feel about the hero not the facts they have learned.
