This is a flip chart I made walking students through fact and opinion. The objective within the lesson is "I can find fact and opinion by finding evidence within the text."
This introduces students to fact and opinion and gives them clue words to help them as they try to identify facts and opinions. There is a link to a BrainPop video that you can use if you have a subscription (if not, you can just delete or skip that slide).
This walks them through a full lesson. There is an "I Do" portion for the teacher to model his/her thinking, a "We Do" with an interactive portion for the kids, and a "You Do" with explicit directions for the kids. The "You Do" includes and article from ReadWorks.org. It is on the last slide. I suggest printing that out for each student to have a copy to do the highlighting and underlining required.
I hope that this is helpful in teaching fact and opinion in your classroom!
