This is an interactive smart board lesson centered around an ocean theme. At the beginning of the lesson students are introduced to what facts and opinions are. There are then sentences displayed where students will need to decide whether it is a fact or opinion. Students can check their work by clicking on a fish in the corner of the screen to display the correct answer. Following are pages with t-charts where students will be sorting facts and opinions. Close to the end of the lesson there are opportunities to brainstorm examples of facts and opinions about a given picture as a class. At the end of the lesson there is a recording sheet attached where students can write their own fact and opinion. Included in the lesson there is also a link to a fact and opinion game on the internet.
