Have students write five facts that accompany each photo and five opinions. I tell my students that they can pretend they are there when the photo is taken so they know some of the information as a fact (names, locations, etc). For best photo quality, print in color. Copies should be alright in black and white as well.
Complete one picture prompt as a class and then have students choose another picture to write about on their own.
Assign ESL or slower working students a fewer number of required facts and opinions.
Students love choice. Give them options of which pictures to complete.
