This lesson was used on April Fool's day but could be used anytime of the year.
It was designed to support common core concepts such as analyzing non fiction text, citing evidence to support arguments and opinions, drawing evidence from text, engaging students in group discussion, and analyzing supporting details.
The lesson uses two adapted/shortened articles from Science Now. One was created as an April Fool's hoax and the other is real. This download includes the lesson plan, youtube videos to introduce concept, both printer friendly articles and worksheet formatted for 2 on one page to conserve copies.
