This facts vs. opinion unit was written to engage your students while they learn the difference between the two while having fun. You can use the two fact/opinion anchors or add in the third anchor to help transition into author's point and why authors sometimes include their opinion. The first Harry the Monster activity is meant to be done whole group. Your class will sort facts and opinions about Harry. Sally the Monster can be done with small groups. Students will write 4-8 facts and 4-8 opinions about Sally, mix them up and then sort them with a group.
