This is not your ordinary matching practice worksheet for factor and FOIL! Yes, included in this product is a 10 question practice matching factor/FOIL worksheet. However, it also comes with cards for a variety of activities to assess understanding!
After completing the worksheet, students pick a card. (Cards are on pages 5-7 and need to be PRECUT by the teacher.) Once everyone (or the majority – use teacher discretion) in the class is finished and has a card, the teacher should have students find their match . If there is less than 20, then some students can pick multiple cards and find multiple partners. If there are more than 20 students in the class, use the wild cards to fill in. If a student picks a wild card, they can make up a problem and place it on the board for the class to solve.
Extension 1: Once students are paired up, they can work on additional problems as a team.
Extension 2: Collect and shuffle the cards. Redistribute them to the students and have them find their new partners.
This is a great way to get students actively engaged, out of their seats, all while the teacher is assessing the class understanding.
*Problems include both x2 + bx + c and ax2 + bx + c
