FACTOR/MULTIPLE TILES: If you have a SMARTboard (Smart Notebook 11 software), this Factor/Multiple Tile activity can be used as a mini-lesson, pre-or post assessment, or as a review. Students may choose a tile prompt to answer about factors or multiples. It may ask them to list factors or multiples of a certain number or may prompt them for patterns they notice, such as multiples of 5 always end in 0 or 5 or 2 will always be a factor of an even number. This activity is self-correcting. After giving or writing their response, they just tap the tile to reveal the answer beneath. If you are looking to get away from boring worksheets, think about using an alternative activity like this one.
PRIME/COMPOSITE VORTEX: This Smart Notebook activity asks students to click and drag numbers into the appropriate category, prime or composite. The most engaging part of this activity for students is the vortex. If students correctly drag the number into the correct category, the number will disappear into the vortex. If the student is incorrect, the number will spin around and get spit back out of the vortex. As with the Factor/Multiple Tiles it is self-correcting and can be used as a mini-lesson, assessment, review, or alternative to a worksheet.
I hope these activities save you valuable "Teacher Tyme"!
