This Common Core seeing structure in expressions lesson teaches students how to factor quadratic equations in the form ax2 +bx +c where a ≠1. The lesson includes research-based strategies and strategic questions that prepare students for Common Core assessments. In this lesson, students will use an algorithm to factor more difficult quadratic equations and check their results or determine the equation cannot be factored. In addition to the lesson, there are four pages of Independent Practice and nine pages of periodic review with questions modeled after the Common Core assessment items.
