These factor trees use visualization to understand factors and prime numbers. The factor trees have room in their tops for the number to be factored. Below, students fill in the roots with the factors. There are three trees for numbers with 2 factors, 3 factors, and 4 factors. I also included a bush visual for prime numbers since prime numbers cannot be factored. These are intended to be posted on a bulletin board however, there are many uses for these visual representations of factors! Each student can factor a different number or students can work together to create a book of factors in numerical order for example.
