This group of lessons teaches the following:
1. Factor trees. Students are shown to create a factor tree then given several problems to complete. Part 2 of the assignment has students create two different trees for the same problems to see if they arrive at the same prime factorization.
2. Lowest Common Multiple. Students use factor trees to find the LCM of a pair of numbers.
3. Greatest Common Factor. Students use factor trees to find the GCF of a pair of numbers.
New: May 3, 2015: Templates and instructions provided for finding GCF and LCM using Venn Diagrams.
Complete answer keys are provided, including factor trees.
