The goal of this activity is for students to observe that the x-intercepts can be found by looking at the equation of a quadratic equation in intercept (factored) form, that the axis of symmetry lies halfway between these two points and that the x-coordinate of the vertex is the same as the axis of symmetry.
After making observations and answering critical thinking questions, students will be able to identify the x-intercepts, the axis of symmetry, the vertex of quadratics in intercept form and will be able to use this information to sketch graphs of quadratics in intercept form.
This activity is also included in the Algebra 2 Investigations Bundle
available in my store.
