Factorials - a Math Enrichment Activity

Factorials - a Math Enrichment Activity
Product Description
The best student activities in my experience are those that present the appropriate mathematics with an “attention grabber” that resonates with the students. In this activity students are introduced to factorials by comparing the number of grains of sand needed to fill five different objects with the number of permutations for 30 desks in a typical classroom. For more advanced students familiar with the concepts of logarithms and sequences, calculator technology is intertwined with these concepts to answer challenging factorial problems that are not directly computable on calculators.
