This product is a note template for factoring completely using the grouping method. There is a file with the steps that you can cut into strips to give students as a quick-reference sheet. The steps that these notes use for factoring a quadratic completely are:
1. Factor out a Greatest Common Factor if possible
2. Check for special cases (perfect square trinomials or difference of squares)
3. If not a special case, factor by grouping.
There are note pages over finding and dividing out a greatest common factor (GCF), special cases (perfect square trinomials and difference of squares), and factoring trinomials by grouping. There is also an additional practice sheet for factoring completely.
