This flowchart is a graphic organizer that helps students know what methods to apply when factoring a polynomial expression. It shows students to first look for a Greatest Common Factor (GCF) and after they have factored it out (unless it was 1) they should then look at the number of terms in the polynomial. Most of my students found having this helpful. I have used this with both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 students.
