The card match activity provides 8 quadratic equations to factor.
The equations, the binomial factors, and the solutions are provided in random order on a printable sheet and are to be cut apart.
The students are to cut the cards apart, factor the equations, find the binomial factors and solutions that match each equation. The students glue the equations, factors, and solutions together on another sheet of paper (e.g., construction paper).
Since the factors and solutions are included with the printable sheet, the students are able to self-check their work to a certain extent, and answers are provided for teacher use.
The activity gives kinesthetic learners some movement while performing the task.
The work may be done individually or with a partner. The results of the task can be displayed in the classroom.
