Objective: To practice factoring quadratic functions when a=1.
Directions: For this activity, students will work in groups of 3-4. You will need one set of cards per group.
Students will start by cutting out all the cards. Then, students will factor every problem. (There is room on each card for students to show their work.)
Once students have factored all quadratics, they will start assembling the snake. One card is labeled “start here A” and will be the head of the snake. (All cards are labeled with letters for ease of checking!)
Students will look through all cards to find one that shares a factor with card A. This card will become the second in the snake.
Now, students will find a card that shares a factor with the 2nd card in the snake. They will continue this process until the snake is complete.
