As my Geometry students end out the year, I find they often need a review of factoring trinomials. I have found that using an area model works really well, since it integrates the concepts of area of rectangles with the concept of factoring.
For an example of what I mean by an area model, please hover over thumbnail 2: you'll notice that the products of the diagonals are equal.
I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are getting the purpose of the questions.
The file includes spiral review problems.
This worksheet is intended for students to show their work on a separate sheet of paper.
Please download the pdf preview file first, so you can see exactly what's included; the product file is a word document, which you may personalize for your students.
