This activity is practice for factoring trinomials. After factoring the trinomial, students must match up the answers with the correct factors, creating a new 4x4 puzzle that they can then paste onto the answer sheet. Using the answer sheet is optional; I sometimes just have my students paste the answer into their notebook to refer back to easily, after I have checked off that they have completed the puzzle correctly.
There are also trinomials/factors on the border of the answer that do not match anything to throw off students from deciding which puzzle pieces go on the outside. I found this to be great extra practice, even when students get “mad” for doing “extra work for no reason.” :)
