This is a basic unit covering Factoring for Algebra I. It covers:
Review of Polynomial Multiplication
Factoring out GCF’s

Trinomial Factoring by the ‘X’ method for a=1, a>1, a<0
Identifying Positive and Negative Factors
Difference of 2 Squares
This unit includes instructional videos, practice problems, answer keys, quizzes, Interactive Notebook Page, Homework turn-in suggestions, and Google Slides/Powerpoint presentations.
This is designed as a 13 day unit, and can easily be expanded by several days for struggling students.
This unit is designed to work for real world math teachers, who need a unit to cover factoring, and don't have a lot of time. It includes short NOTES at the beginning of each main section, detailing how I used the unit in my class. It does NOT include in depth, detailed lesson plans. This is simply a guideline for covering all aspects of factoring.
It is suggested that your students have covered polynomial multiplication and simplification before doing this factoring unit, and that they cover this unit BEFORE moving on to Quadratic Functions.
