Factoring Special Binomials - Difference of Two Perfect Squares Multiple Choice
This activity is designed for Algebra 1 and as a review for Algebra 2. Students will practice factoring binomials using the difference of two perfect squares. Some problems have common monomial factors.
There are 20 Task Cards which increase in difficulty numerically. Since most students do not have a lot of difficulty with factoring binomials, I designed the cards to be multiple choice. Students seem to do (a + b)(a - b) very fast without thinking. With 4 similar answers choices, they tend to spend more time on the problem to make sure they have the correct answer. This reinforces their test taking skills as well as their factoring skills.
