Applying the distributive property and the ability to factor are two major skills taught in 6th grade that are necessary for understanding in future math courses. These task cards give your students the practice they need in factoring within the distributive property! These task cards only involve numerical expressions - no variables in this set. The key with these cards is for students to be able to combine their knowledge of factoring and the GCF (greatest common factor) to a numerical expression.
There are 20 task cards in the set.
4 cards involve subtraction
2 cards involve 3 numbers in the expression with addition
14 cards involve 2 numbers in the expression with addition
4 additional blank cards have been included so you can add your own task cards if you choose!
I love using these cards in my class in small groups, centers, as extra practice, enrichment, reteaching, math centers, resource groups, whole groups, partnerships and more! I use them in review games, and I LOVE using them in a "Scoot" game. (You can read more about this game on the blog Task Card Corner found HERE
Included in the set is an answer key and a student response sheet. Students can check the boxes in the corner as they evaluate their work. Your students will love these cards, and you will too!
