Put the POP into pop quiz! This is a short, engaging quiz to see where your students are in their factors and multiples skills, or to use as an assessment. Print out one mystery question for each student in your classroom. Cut out questions, fold-up one and put it into a balloon. Blow up balloon, and write any number from 1-99 on it in permanent marker. Students must write their number on their pop quiz paper, write down whether it's prime or composite and WHY. When they have filled this portion out correctly, THEN they can move on to their mystery question. In order to retrieve their question, they get to pop their balloon! They must then finish the rest of the pop quiz based on the question that they are given.
I gave this pop quiz to my fourth graders this year, and it was a HUGE success. They were absolutely thrilled to finish the assignment! I hope your kiddos love it, too!
