Factors and Multiples - NO PREP - Games
Students often struggle to understand factors and multiples, and need LOTS of practice, so why not make the practice FUN with these 4 - NO PREP - games!
GAME 1: Number Chain
Students play in pairs or small groups to create a number chain, where each new number is a factor or multiple of the previous number. This game is so addictive and each game is unique as there are a limitless number of sequences that can be made!
GAME 2: Snakes and Ladders
This is a modern take on a classic! In this version, students must answer questions about factors, highest common factors (HCF), multiples and lowest common multiples (LCM) to secure their place on the board. (Answer sheet included).
GAME 3: Boxes
Students play in pairs or small groups to join dots and make boxes. This is a game of strategy that also incorporates factors, as students who complete a box must list all factors of the number inside, before it is theirs! (Note: a clue sheet is included so the other players can check all factors have been provided! Meaning, this activity will run itself!)
GAME 4: Roll and Write
A game for independent practice or a pair challenge. Students roll dice to create 2 sets of numbers and find the factors, highest common factors (HCF), multiples and lowest common multiples (LCM) of these numbers.
