These are the materials I wish that I had the first time I taught Fahrenheit 451!
Ray Bradbury might have written this dystopian novel in 1953, but your students will see a spooky number of similarities with our social media saturated society.
In this unit, I have included
-Two types of note-taking forms (one text only, the other with space to draw) for your students to use as they read.
- Three reading comprehension quizzes, each with 10 short answer questions and suggested answers.
- Discussion questions for each of the three sections of the novel.
- Culminating Activity where students image that they will grow up to live in the society of the novel. Students will make a video "message in a bottle" warning their future selves to stand up for books (and beware of the coming disaster).
