Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" is full of important allusions to great thinkers. However, no teacher would have the time to discuss them all! This group project gives that responsiblity to the students, as groups choose a person alluded to in the novel, research this person, and present their findings to the class. The project requires them to go beyond basic research, and to think about how their researched person fits into the themes of the novel.
The packet includes:
* A clear set of directions (see preview download)
* An organizer packet to help students stay on track
*A rubric for grading
This project is a great way to reinforce research techniques, discuss important ideas in the novel, introduce or emphasize the concept of allusions in literature, and help students learn about a variety of great writers/thinkers.
