Let's be honest. As teachers we like two things: 1) to save money and 2) to save time. I find that it is easy to find end-of-novel activities like tests or essay prompts on the internet for free. Why buy the cow, right? What I have difficulty finding, and am willing to pay for, are well thought out, detailed activities for the "middle" of the text. These types of activities require a close attention to the text and that the teacher have hours of time to read, analyze, and create each lesson. With all of our obligations as teachers and, well, humans, it is unlikely that we can create detailed lessons every day for an entire novel.
In this product, the Meticulous English Teacher presents the answer to your teacher dilemma. The product contains 2 passage-based essay prompts with graphic organizers for student planning and a rubric for assessment, 9 reading guides that address each section of the novel (with a journal, fill in the blank reading questions, and critical thinking/long answer question), and one graphic organizer for analyzing dystopia in the novel.
