This mini extension unit will add several activities to your unit on Failed Compromises, How Slavery Divided a Nation. These activities focus on the Missouri Compromise, The Compromise of 1850, and the Kansas Nebraska Act. These acts were a series of failed compromises that were a precursor to the Civil War. The Nation desperately wanted to keep peace and reach a compromise with the issue of slavery; alas, this simply wasn't possible.
In this unit:
* 3 blank maps
* 3 map keys (colored)
* 2-page text outlining each of the compromises, why they were needed, and why they ultimately did not work
* Graphic Organizer
* Sorting activity
* Answer Keys
Students will read and discover how the nation tried to avoid the outcome of war.
After this unit, please consider my Civil War Unit!
