"Hey, that's not fair!" Well, what exactly IS fair? What does fair mean? This is a very difficult concept to define, especially for adolescents.
Fairness also fits right in to your PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) program at your school - a great character building exercise.
In this concept formation lesson, students will read realistic scenarios as they work 'backwards' to write a definition of the concept 'fairness.' Then, they will turn around and apply their new definition to realistic problem situations. Finally, they will reflect by engaging in group discussion, then watch 2 extension videos on YouTube.
This lesson is the perfect higher order, challenging assignment for adolescents. It is guaranteed to generate an interesting discussion.
Please see my store for other concept formation lessons! Thank you!
