A Lot Can Happen In The Woods is a fairy tale companion for 6 popular stories: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, The Little Red Hen and The Gingerbread Man.

I have included:
a) Story Sequencing - students cut, sequence and paste to complete a retell flip book. Two story sequences included.
b) Story Vocabulary - students sort and highlight story vocabulary before drawing and writing their words into sentences.
* Now includes a letter writing activity from the character's perspective. Word bank of story vocabulary provided.
c) Beginning, Middle, End - students use high-frequency words to retell the story. This is another version of the retell flip book.
d) Comparing Characters - students complete this fun Venn diagram for characters and fairy tales.

I built this fairy tale companion to address the modified curriculum for one of my students. I was inspired by Stephanie Kinley’s: Goldilocks Literacy and Writing Fun! Stephanie had a great approach to fairy tales and this resource is meant to complement this teaching style.
